Smith School of Business & Economic by assisting with marketing, event planning, administrative tasks, data management, and communications. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in a professional academic environment and allows students to contribute to the success and visibility of the school.Job Responsibilities:- Assist in planning, promoting, and executing events: coordinate space, catering, signage, RSVPs, and day-of logistics. - Create flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials using Canva or similar design tools. - Capture and edit event photos; manage and schedule social media content (Instagram and LinkedIn). - Assist with drafting and distributing digital communications such as the biweekly MVS Newsletter. - Support website updates by editing or proposing content improvements. - Perform administrative and clerical tasks including copying, scanning, organizing files, distributing mail, and updating office signage. - Monitor the school’s email inbox and assist with inquiries or routing to appropriate staff. - Organize storage areas, maintain office inventory, and ensure shared spaces are tidy and functional. - Support faculty with administrative tasks including printing, supply organization, and light scheduling needs. - Maintain contact databases (e.g., alumni, employers); manage mailing lists for outreach. - Conduct research, prepare reports, and support data collection through tools like Google Forms or Qualtrics. - Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of school strategic initiatives. - Coordinate with facilities to ensure the department golf cart remains in good working condition. - Participate in regular team meetings and assist in documenting procedures and improving workflows.- Proactively bring new ideas or improvements forward to enhance operations. - Other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Professionalism and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. - Comfort with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and basic office equipment. - Experience or interest in using design tools (e.g., Canva) and social media platforms. - Familiarity with data entry, spreadsheets, and survey tools (Google Forms, Qualtrics) is a plus. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
