- Annual Giving Student Assistant at CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentEmployer: CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentExpires: 08/29/2025Purpose of Position:The Annual Giving Student Assistant will work with the Office of Annual Giving in outreach and solicitation efforts. Includes supporting the development, creation, and implementation process of campaigns and partnering with students and organizations on campus. The student will engage supporters of CSUCI through multiple channels, including mail, e-mail, social media, and phone. They will support student crowdfunding and annual giving campaigns such as the senior class gift. Scans and records confidential documents, keeps orderly digital filing system, and is responsible for some research. Other duties include assisting with office mailings, including sorting and stuffing envelopes and running errands. Assist with phone calls, typing correspondence, faxing, and emailing of various documents. Will have opportunities for Internet, phone, and manual research for various activities. Opportunity to learn about non-profit fundraising, marketing, and advancement operation.Job Responsibilities:Daily tasks include, but are not limited to the following:- Supports Annual Giving Team in production and execution of crowdfunding and annual giving initiatives- Enter and maintain donor records in Blackbaud (Raiser's Edge)- Generate donor acknowledgement letters and monitor the online giving portal- Working in GiveCampus online crowdfunding program- Reaching out to students and asking for gifts- Internet based research for updating donor profiles with database- Leading senior class gift committee- Assisting in in-person events on campus for community engagement and solicitationRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Student must be an undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior (junior or senior preferred). A successful candidate must have strong administrative skills that include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Canva, Outlook, and databases in general, as well as the ability to learn various computer programs, Blackbaud specifically (Raiser's Edge). Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality. They will also have very strong people skills and enjoy working in an office environment. - Student Success Communication Coach (STEM Majors Only) at CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentEmployer: CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentExpires: 08/29/2025OVERVIEWHourly wage: $16.50 - $19/hourWeekly hours: 10-12 hours per weekPurpose of Position: Student Success Communication Coaches (SSCC) will support educational equity through strategic communication and student success messaging to improve the retention and persistence of CSUCI students and build community through culturally-relevant programming. SSCC’s will engage with first-time students and new transfer students via student success campaigns to encourage participation in STEM initiatives, access mental health services and attend STEM academic support activities. Through student success campaign nudges, SSCCs will help to streamline communication to targeted students and improve students retention using artificial intelligence. - Bilingual STEM Outreach Mentors at CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentEmployer: CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentExpires: 08/29/2025Purpose of Position:STEM Outreach Peer Mentors serve both at CSUCI and in the regional community to promote education equity through proactive outreach and engagement of students and their families.STEM Outreach Peer Mentors will provide outreach to high school and community college students to promote STEM degree and career pathways, facilitate workshops, support and coordinate large-scale outreach events, facilitate guest speakers, and support matriculating STEM students to CI. STEM TAP Peer Mentors will engage in outreach activities and events and promote educational equity and support. Job Responsibilities:Serve as near-peer mentors to high school and community college students in order to support effective STEM student matriculation to CI• Work collaboratively and contribute to a team composed of student peer mentors, community partners, faculty and professional staff• Assist with and/or help design program planning, development, coordination, and implementation of outreach programming, including but not limited to workshops, events, career panels, etc.• Design and facilitate STEM transfer and articulation curriculum for toolkits• Serve as CSUCI peer mentor liaisons in the regional community• Collaborate with other STEM TAP peer mentors to co-facilitate workshops and provide support with workshop content and logistics• Develop programming marketing and social media campaign materials related to programming for the STEM Transfer and Articulation Pathways program• Attend weekly team meetings and/or trainings prior to and during the academic semester• Meet regularly with STEM TAP Peer Mentors, partners, professional staff, and work teams as designated• Assist with program data tracking, reporting, and evaluation of all activities• Meet deadlines as given• Assist the department's professional staff with special projects and events, and• Complete all administrative duties, including base office hours and any other tasks as assigned.
