Employer: CSU Channel Islands: On Campus EmploymentExpires: 07/18/2025Purpose of Position:The Employer Relations Student Assistant supports the team within Career Development & Alumni Engagement (CDAE). This position offers a valuable hands-on learning opportunity for a student interested in career services, event planning, communication, and building partnerships. The student will assist with employer outreach, event support, marketing, and administrative duties that enhance student career opportunities.Job Responsibilities:The Employer Relations Student Assistant will support the department through a variety of tasks including researching employers and job opportunities in Handshake, assisting in communication and outreach efforts with employers, and maintaining contact records in Handshake. The student will create marketing fliers and promote career center events such as employer panels, career fairs and information sessions on social media platforms. They will also coordinate the Job Find Friday and Career Success Story posts on Instagram by designing and scheduling posts to highlight employer events and job/internship opportunities. The student will support Career Fair planning efforts from logging registered employers, creating an employer map for students, and assisting in day of event support. This student will also support updating our participating employers web page for Career Fair attendance. Administrative duties include responding to general employer emails and phone calls, supporting data entry for Handshake, and event programming.Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:- Currently enrolled CSUCI student in good academic standing.- Ability to work 9 am - 5 pm during the work week with occasional flexibility for evening and weekend for employer events and workshops.- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Interest in career services, employer relations, marketing, or a related field.- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Knowledge in Computer Applications and Software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Handshake, Zoom, Canva, & Social Media Platforms.- Employment is contingent upon the ability to provide documentation verifying eligibility to work in the United States, including under a valid student visa.
